Mercedes Hachuel is a Venezuelan-Spanish Set Decorator and Production Designer with a lyrical sense of aesthetics, keen professionalism and enthusiastic creativity that allows her to successfully take on just about any type of film job. Her dedication and drive have earned her a strong reputation and international recognition.
Her career in Art Department started in Venezuela with commercials for brands like Sony, Yoguen Fruz, Banco Plaza and Newspaper Lider, but soon she wanted to be part of something bigger; She joined the team of what later became the internationally awarded feature film Tamara directed by Elia K. Schneider, Tamara was a great challenge as a period piece and because of the strong themes of the story. After the amazing experience in Tamara, Mercedes decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue her career in the film industry.
In Los Angeles she met Leslie Dilley, production designer of the films Alien, Deep Impact and The Abbyss, who introduced Mercedes to the world of the art department in Hollywood. Since then, she has work in many internationally recognized projects like the features Hide in the Light, He Matado a mi Marido and Lucifer and the shortfilms The Astronaut, The Cards and Voiceless Voicess among many others. Mercedes has also work in commercials for brands like Toyota, Honda, T-mobile, Netflix, Sony, Avis, Sprite, Yogen Fruz and Disney, and she was also the production designer in music videos like Murder she Wrote by Brian Puspos.
Mercedes’ talent and recognition is growing exponentially in the entertainment industry. She is currently located in Los Angeles, California, where she works as a decorator for commercials, films and TV.
